Where did the name Tempest Technologies come from?
Our name isn’t as random as you might think; it’s a nod to the Bard himself – William Shakespeare. Truth be told, our founders, Shawn and Lisa, are Shakespearean enthusiasts and they found inspiration for the business name in none other than his final play, “The Tempest.”

When Tempest launched in 1999, the tech world was a wild sea. “The Tempest,” with its central image of a powerful storm, felt fitting for a company aiming to disrupt the status quo. Even today, 25+ years later, we embrace the challenges of navigating the ever-changing digital landscape – it’s our own Shakespearean storm to weather.
